APPLICATION License Fee is $55 and both parties must appear at the Marriage License Bureau, 1st floor, 200 South Third Street. The courthouse is open seven days a week, Monday- Thursday, 8:00 a.m.- midnight. 24-hours on weekends and all holidays.

CONSENT Adults 18 years of age and older need no consent. Proof of age will be required through age 21. Persons age 16 and 17 may marry if:
1. Consent is given by either a parent in person at the time the marriage license is applied for; or,
2. Consent is given through a notarized affidavit signed by either parent when not present. This notarized affidavit of consent must contain the birth date of the minor, state the relationship of the party giving consent and be written in English.

ORDER OF COURT REQUIRED FOR PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 A person less than 16 years of age may marry only if he or she has the consent of a parent or legal guardian and authorization from a Nevada District Court. The court may authorize the marriage of persons less than 16 years of age in extraordinary circumstances if the court finds that:
a) The marriage will serve the best interests of such person; and,
b) Such person has the consent required.

WITNESSES There must be at least one additional witness other than the person performing the ceremony.

PAST MARRIAGE RECORDS Judith Vandever, the Clark County Recorder, has recently computerized historical marriage license information and put them on the internet. You can now look it up online. If you prefer the old fashioned way, write to the Courthouse, 309 South Third Street, 3rd floor, Las Vegas, Nevada 89155 (including self-addressed stamped envelope) and request certified copies of certificates for marriages performed in Clark County. Information needed: Names, year of marriage, and recorder book number. The fee is $5 per copy. If you do not know the year, an additional fee for searching is $1 per year, per name.

IF YOU'VE BEEN DIVORCED Your divorce must be final in the state where it was granted. The date of the final decree and the city and state are required.
